Beaver Scouts (young people aged between 6 and 8 years old) belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between eight and eight years six months.

We have one Beaver Colony which runs from 6-7pm on Thursdays during school term time.

During the two years that the young people are with the colony, they get a chance to experience possibly their first hike and night away from Mum and Dad. They also get a chance to experience some activities that they could be doing if they move up into cubs.

Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. The Beaver motto is Fun and Friendship and their programme reflects this. For the Beaver who wants to be recognised for his or her achievements there are a number of activity badges they can work for.

We look forward to welcoming you and your son or daughter!
